Known for its smoky whiskies, Bowmore is, however, one of the milder representatives of the island with a peat content of around 35 ppm in the malt. In addition to its bottlings, the distillery is known for Vault No. 1 the only warehouse in Scotland located below sea level. Bowmore 18 year old matured for the entire period in a combination of former bourbon and
